On Friday, May 8th, over 1,500 people joined us for Grace Hospital Day, which included a radiothon on CJOB 680, treats for our staff, volunteer street teams collecting donations, and free family-friendly activities in the early evening.

The park in front of Grace Hospital was packed with families who enjoyed a free barbeque courtesy of FoodFare and  delicious Sargent Sundae ice cream sandwiches that were sponsored by Kinsmen Winnipeg.

Entertainment was provided by local superstar Al Simmons, magician Evan Morgan and the Royal Canadian Air Force Party band – who got us on our feet and dancing.

Extraordinary balloons animals were created for delighted fans (think flamingos and dinosaurs) while face painters were drawing on amazing works of art on our littlest attendees.

The Winnipeg Circus Club had hula hoops out for those who wanted to take a twirl and bean bags for the juggling aficionados.

The Blue Cross team and their mascot, Big Blue, were on hand to give out slinkies and high-fives to everyone.

And let’s not forget the petting zoo sponsored by Boston Pizza. Cute and cuddly animals, pony rides, and Lionel, the Boston Pizza mascot, were all on hand to make kids of all ages smile.

River City Ford was handing out refreshments and hot wheels, while Pegcity 360 Photo Booth captured the memories of that evening for our supporters.

Birchwood Automotive provided a great gathering place where families could sit and take a bit of a break from all the activities.
