The hard-working Grace health care heroes are enjoying and extremely appreciative to Princess Auto Foundation and Trans Canada Brewing, who have been providing hearty meals twice a day, but now they are making deliveries on every day of the week! This level of personal generosity is absolutely incredible - Thank you!

How wonderful and generous ‼️

Every day, we hear from patients and their families about how pleased they are with the care they received while at the Grace. If you’d like to share your story and thank the Grace staff, please email foundation@ggh.mb.ca. When you’re grateful, we’re grateful.

"Hello Friends,

Jeff Coleman here again.

We are now beginning to understand the challenges that the Omicron wave of COVID-19 is bringing to the Grace. And it is not good.

Currently we have 55 confirmed COVID patients in the hospital and 21 more suspected cases. The number climbs each day. We have COVID outbreaks on four of our in-patient units. This surge in patients is affecting our ability to provide care in a timely fashion, and is presenting a sustained challenge in our Emergency department.

We are also experiencing staff shortages due to COVID related illness and that is obviously compounding the situation. Are we holding our own? Of course. But it is at a cost. Our staff are exhausted but continue to put patient care first. Many are working double shifts. Some will go home only for a period of a few hours to get some rest before returning to get back to providing care. This wave is affecting every area of our facility, every staff member, and we do not have an expectation of things changing in the near future.

I could not be filled with more admiration for the staff and administration at Grace Hospital. They are the finest in the city and as they get hit with wave after wave, month after month, they stand tall and provide superior patient care every day. Health Care Heroes is an apt moniker. Their efforts are truly heroic.

So once again I come to you, hat in hand so to speak, to ask that if you are able, that you consider making a gift to Grace Hospital Foundation. We will put your gifts to good use, supporting patient care and the ongoing needs of our staff. Donations can be made online at www.gracehospitalfoundation.ca, by phone at 204-837-0375, or by mail to Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB, R3J 3M7.

Please, to you and yours, be safe and well."
